We invite your family to join us this Sunday for our worship experience! We believe that church should be exciting, meaningful, and life-giving for the whole family. You can expect to be welcomed into a friendly, casual environment by people who are genuinely excited to see you.
Our worship experiences last about an hour. They are filled with high-energy worship music, and you’ll hear an engaging message from the Bible by Pastor Ricky. Arrive a few minutes early to enjoy a warm cup of coffee on us!
At Thrive Kids, your child won’t have a chance to be bored! Newborns through 5th graders have tons of fun as they learn about Jesus through worship, age-specific lessons, and a variety of exciting activities. Our goal is to make Sunday your child’s favorite day of the week!
Thrive Kids is fully staffed with adults and high school students who are committed to ministering to children. You can be confident that your child is well-cared-for and will love it! Thrive Kids meets at the same time as our worship experience for adults. While you are enjoying the worship and teaching in the auditorium, your kids are experiencing God in their language!
Thrive Community Church is devoted to seeing a generation of students who are connected in a relationship with Jesus and thriving within the local church.
Our desire is to lead students through the same process we are all going through here at Thrive Students – being pastored, trained, and empowered to live out God’s purpose for our lives.
Ricky and Melissa have been involved in ministry most of their lives. Little did they know, that time would be preparation time for what God was directing for them now.
In January 2015, they had a stirring in their hearts that God was calling them to step out and plant a new church. With much prayer and confirmation from the Lord, they began to act on what was placed within them. The city of Mount Airy was dropped in their hearts by God. Ricky actually began preaching at a church that his dad was pastoring in Flat Rock, just outside of Mount Airy, when he was 14 years old. He feels that he has always had a supernatural love for the city and believes that he is called back to continue a ministry that God began in him as a 14 year old teenager in Mount Airy. As Ricky and his family spent time in the area, they had peace and confirmation that they were right where God wanted them to establish a new life-giving church as they walked out the path set before them.
Ricky is an ordained minister. He and Melissa have been married since 2009 and have one daughter, Amelia.
